The HIFIMAN Edition XS offers an airy soundstage and balanced detail in a comfortable, over‑ear design, ideal for quiet Australian listening spaces.
Australian audiophiles looking for a spacious, detailed listening experience will feel right at home with the HIFIMAN Edition XS. Its open‑back architecture lets sound breathe, delivering a natural soundstage that makes acoustic guitars and orchestral recordings feel three‑dimensional. Hidden‑magnet drivers keep distortion low while preserving crisp highs and controlled bass, so you can hear subtle instrument placement without the harshness of cheaper models. The lightweight alloy headband adjusts smoothly, accommodating a range of head sizes – a boon for long marathon sessions on a home studio desk or a relaxed weekend on the couch. Because the design leaks sound, it shines in quiet rooms, apartments with good insulation, or dedicated listening areas. The sturdy frame and replaceable ear pads stand up to the Aussie summer heat, and the 3‑metre 3.5 mm cable works with any desktop source, from DACs to laptops. If you value clarity over isolation, the Edition XS gives audiophile‑grade performance without the premium price tag, making it a sensible upgrade for discerning listeners.
Because it’s an open‑back model, it leaks sound, so it works best in a quiet room or when you can use headphones at a reasonable volume.
The headphones use a standard 3.5 mm plug, so you’ll need a wired connection or a Bluetooth adapter with a 3.5 mm output.
Yes, the ear pads are interchangeable, allowing you to swap to breathable pads if you need extra comfort during hot Australian days.
